LGBTQ+ Backpacking Expedition

Description

Duration: 7 Days

Age: 9th – 12th Grades

This expedition is an immersive backpacking trip for high schoolers who identify as LGBTQ+. During this week-long course in the high mountains, participants will learn and practice backpacking skills such as setting up camp, cooking delicious meals, packing a pack, reading a map, and navigating the terrain — all in community with other queer-identified peers. In this safe and supportive environment, participants will explore elements of teambuilding and leadership development and think about how to carry these new skills beyond the course.

This course is appropriate for both first-time and experienced backpackers, and is a great opportunity for individuals who want a safe space for an overnight experience.
