Ages: Entering 9th to 12th grade in Fall 2019

2019 Dates:  July 26 – August 2

Location:  Colorado State Forest State Park, CO. Transportation provided from Boulder, CO

During these 8 days, you will go on an immersive backpacking trip in the mountains during peak wildflower season. You will learn how to set up camp, cook delicious meals, pack your backpack, read a map, and navigate in the mountains.  This adventure will help your team bond as you get to know the other girls in your group in a deeper, more meaningful way than you have ever experienced before.

Throughout the trip, you will have opportunities to discus and explore what really makes you unique in this world.  You’re in high school…who are you? Where do you fit in? What experiences celebrate you? What special attributes do you bring to the group on your backpacking trip?  How do you contribute to the team?  How can you really bring these gifts forward once you return home?  We will work with goal setting, application of leadership skills to home, and development of personal leadership style.

“This course has been such a blast! I had never been backpacking before, and I learned sooooo much! Although backpacking was intense and challenging, I was able to pull a lot from the experience, especially how to handle leadership. I learned a lot about sharing, helping out and giving it your all. The girls I have met will be life-long friends!” – Terra, 16
