Contemplative Tracking Wander: Relationship to Place in the Chthulucene

Out of stock

This offering will be a wandering style format to see who we will come across on the landscape. As it will be winter time, we will not be seeking direct encounters to respect the energy conservation of our more-than-human neighbors. Our primary focus will be tracking as contemplative practice of walking on the land as naturalists listening for stories from our ecological kin. This will be slightly different than our previous tracking offerings that were didactic-focused — in essence, less lecture and more practice. This may be a great fit if you have already done our tracking courses already and want to practice. It is also a great fit if you are new to tracking and are less interested in a download of foot morphology and want to explore wandering as a contemplative practice (you may also hear us geeking out about foot morphology). There will also be a contemplative solo “sit-spot” or wander element to this piece as well that will weave in internal tracking and tending to relationship to place. Come and join us for a wander where timelessness, nonlinearity, mystery, and relationship are the core intentions of our time together in the late winter.

Difficulty Level: Easy to moderate — depending on terrain, although we will not be destination focused so pace is flexible.

This workshop is intended as a safe container for LGBTQ2IA folks of any gender to engage in the culture and practice of wilderness-self reliance and earth-based living skills.
