Manya was born and raised in Vermont where she developed a love for nature. In high school, she spent a semester at the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS) and realized how powerful the wilderness was in helping her grow as a person, build confidence and reduce her anxiety. From that point on, her goal was to be an outdoor educator and expose more people to the benefits of wilderness experiences. After a summer leading trips at a camp in New Hampshire, she spent summer 2014 leading hiking and climbing trips for the Women’s Wilderness. Last year she started working at NOLS, and is beyond excited to instruct for both NOLS and Women’s Wilderness this summer. Manya is excited to see more of the incredible personal changes and relationships that can form on Women’s Wilderness courses! Manya is a student at the University of Vermont when she’s not leading wilderness trips, racing her mountain bike, doing yoga, teaching skiing or playing in the mountains.
