Jess grew up camping, fishing, hunting, wandering in fields, and witnessing the nuances of the life cycle at her parents’ veterinary clinic. Ever since going on a 30-day Outward Bound trip in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of Colorado, Jess has been passionate about honoring the integration of the more-than-human world into modern life in order to support physical, mental, and spiritual health. As a counselor, Jess weaves in didactic and experiential activities from her background in special education, outdoor education, equine therapy, trauma therapy, and wilderness therapy. Her mentors from a diverse range of fields and personal backgrounds continually feed the evolution of how she interacts with the land, the Earth’s creatures, and herself. Jess is excited to offer her knowledge and experience in a concise and playful way to the land and to the participants of the Wild Connection trip.
