What’s your passion? The physical challenge of rock climbing or mountain biking, or the peace and stillness of drifting down a remote desert river? Do you need a quick one-day getaway, or a week-long retreat? Are you looking for specific skills, or the inspiration and rejuvenation of wilderness? Over 1500 women and girls have taken a Women’s Wilderness Course, and while no two have had exactly the same experience, nearly everyone tells us that they got what they came for. And whichever outdoor adventure you choose, you can be sure that you’ll have

  • two exceptional, inspiring, and competent staff
  • plenty of laughter
  • a strong emphasis on safety
  • solid new friendships
  • excellent food and plenty of chocolate!
  • the fun of exploring some of the most beautiful places on earth.

Women join our outdoor adventures for a variety of reasons: to learn a specific outdoor skill or how to travel competently in the wilderness, to experience the camaraderie of wilderness travel in the supportive company of other women, to build confidence, or to renew a sense of direction and refresh the spirit. Whatever your personal intention, Women’s Wilderness outdoor adventures offer a complete education in backcountry skills and knowledge, while also providing a way for women to come together to enjoy the outdoors, the company of women, and the nourishment and challenge of a wilderness experience.

“It was everything I expected and more. Women’s companionship, support, and empathy made for a wonderfully safe environment, in which to learn. I stepped up a level in my climbing, knowledge, and ability.”
- Sarah, age 33,
Three Day Rock Camp

“The challenge of the river and support of the group helped me get back in touch with a younger, less-coddled, risk-taker self. And the food was great!”
- Vonna, age 47,
Gunnison Canoe
