Get excited to build incredible friendships while going places you've never been before! This six-day trip, offered in conjunction with Girl Scouts of Colorado, is geared specifically to the needs of 13-14 year-old girls. We'll help you grow as a leader physically, mentally and emotionally. Your adventure will start at Meadow Mountain Ranch near Estes Park to hone orienteering skills and build trust and teamwork through a ropes course and other group energizers.
The next phase of your adventure will bring you to Rocky Mountain National Park where you'll begin your backpacking experience by starting at 8600 feet and traveling to Thunder Lake at 10,500 feet. From here, we enter the alpine realm where rocks, tundra, alpine forget-me-nots, ptarmigan and marmots dominate the landscape. This is where backpacking becomes mountaineering as we travel from our alpine base camp to our summit attempt of Pilot Mountain, 12,222 feet.
