Venus de Miles Bike Race

As one of only 12 supported all-women's rides in the U.S., Colorado's Venus de Miles is a unique experience. In it's second year, the Venus de Miles race is set for Sunday, August 30. Both tenured riders and new cyclists will be coming together to enjoy the day, encouraging women to have fun and not leave their femininity at home! You'll see tutus, tiaras, and an on-course mechanical support team featuring men in skirts and wigs. This year, riders can choose from three courses (35 miles, 50 miles, 65 miles)- all meandering through the beautiful Boulder foothills. An exciting feature of the race this year is The Venus de Miles "Dream Team" - 15 of Colorado's most well-known female cyclists and athletes who'll be inspiring the rest of the riders. Connie Carpenter (1984 Olympic Gold Medalist), Alison Dunlap (World Cross Country Mountain Bike Champion), Nicole DeBoom (founder of Skirt Sports) and Susie Wargin (9News Sports Anchor) are just a few of the amazing women you'll see!

The ride is presented by and directly supports Greenhouse Scholars, a non-profit organization that supports high-performing, under-resourced college students. The ride is open to women of all ages, offering a day of non-competitive fun in celebration of sisterhood and in support of amazing young students. Registration is now open at www.venusdemiles.com

Interested in volunteering for the event? There are many ways to help contribute to this fantastic event - race support, course marshalling, and even pre-event help! Send an email to Lauren Maynard, Event Coordinator for more information or to get registered as a volunteer!
