How to EnrollThere are three easy ways to sign up for a Girls' Wilderness course. Pick the one that is easiest for you!

1) Sign up online. Select your course from the chart below and follow the link to pay online by credit card (please note that registration online takes payment in full. Please call to reserve a spot with just a deposit). Then, download your forms. Fill them out, send them in, and you're set!

2) Give us a call at 303.938.9191and pay by credit card. We can answer all your questions, and send you a registration packet. You may also request information by emailing moreinfo@womenswilderness.org.

3) Mail a check, with the appropriate registration forms, please be sure to note the course name and date for which you are signing up.

Download FormsEach course has a Girls' application packet includes a general application form, a medical form, risk release form, participant questionnaire, an "I understand" form and a physician medical form.

PaymentFor one day courses, full payment is required to reserve your spot. For multi-day courses, a $60 non-refundable application fee payable by check or credit card will reserve your space. Full tuition and signed financial aid agreements (if applicable) are due 60 days before your course start date. Completed application forms are due 30 days before your course begins. Your registration is not confirmed until we receive all of your materials.

CANCELLATION POLICY - PLEASE READ!Our cancellation/refund policy is based on our investment in staff time, course planning, and food and equipment purchases before your course. Course tuition includes a $60 nonrefundable application fee.

Cancellation refunds will be given according to the following schedule:

Days prior to course start:

More than 60 days: 100% of full tuition minus $60 application fee.
21-59 days: 50% minus $60 application fee.
8-20 days: No refunds, however 50% minus the $60 application fee may be transferred to another course in 2010.
Less than 7 days: No refunds or transfers.

If we cancel a trip: TWWI reserves the right to cancel a trip if sign-up is inadequate to make the trip economically feasible for us to operate. If this happens, we will fully refund the stated cost including the application fee. However, TWWI is not responsible for additional expenses incurred by you in preparing for the trip, e.g. transportation costs, gear, etc.

Girls' Registration FAQSafety: Your safety is the very first priority on our courses. We have an excellent safety record and a strong commitment to making our courses as safe as possible. The Women’s Wilderness Institute uses safety procedures and protocols that are considered “best practices” in the field of wilderness programming. However, all of our courses are real wilderness experiences, and there are inherent risks whenever you venture into the mountains or desert. Field staff will teach you how to recognize hazards and how to “think safely” at all times so that you can be an active participant in staying safe. All field staff are certified as Wilderness First Responders, an 80-hour training in backcountry medicine.

The Women's Wilderness Institute recently received it's accreditation from the Association for Experiential Educators (AEE). AEE accredited programs meet or exceed recognized industry standards for risk management, safety, and sound practices.

Fitness and Health:Girls’ Wilderness Program courses are meant to be challenging, but “do-able.” Regular exercise in the months before the course will be helpful, but a positive attitude and willingness to try are just as important.

Diversity: We believe that people flourish in environments that welcome and respect differences, and that diversity is a crucial element in a healthy organization and in a healthy society. We welcome all girls on our courses, and will not discriminate on the basis of age, race, spiritual beliefs, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation or disability in any area of the organization, including hiring of staff or selection of participants.

What to bring:
Not much! We have top-quality backpacks, sleeping bags, tents, climbing gear, and all the other outdoor equipment you might need. If you have any of these items, you may bring your own gear. We can loan fleece clothing, rain gear and even hiking boots if needed. You will receive a list of things to bring with your enrollment packet.

Food: All food is provided, including healthy meals and plenty of snacks. Our staff will teach you how to create wholesome, delicious backcountry meals with enough fuel and nutrition to keep you happy on your course. We can accommodate some common food allergies. Please give us a call if you have specific needs or questions.

Transportation: Transportation leaving from and returning to Boulder, CO is included.
