What Should I Expect on a Women’s Wilderness Course? Our courses are real-life adventures, and the excitingly unpredictable nature of a real expedition makes every course different. Unlike a guided, “adventure travel vacation”, this is YOUR adventure, and you’ll be a full participant in the course including planning and organizing the day. You can expect some “down-time” for hanging out and talking over lunch, but mostly you will be actively learning, doing, and moving.
What Do I Need to Bring? After you have enrolled, you will be sent a packet that will include a list of things to bring- from clothing to bike gear. In most cases we can loan you clothing if needed, including raingear and fleece clothes. You will need to bring your own bike and helmet!
Can I Bring My Bike? Can I Rent One? Yes, and yes!
You may either bring your bike, or rent one from Full Cycle in Boulder, where they are offering 10% off a bike rental for any of our Mountain Bike courses. You can go online to check out the bike options: www.fullcyclebikes.com Click on sales and service, click on rental info. TWWI recommends a full suspension bike, but hard-tail is also acceptable. Front suspension for this course is a must. Please keep in mind that you must reserve your bike EARLY because there rental fleet is very small.

Where Are We Going? We will be riding at Betasso Preserve just west of Boulder.
What Will We Eat? We’ll pack a great lunch and plenty of snacks. Energy bars or gels are not generally provided, so if you have a favorite feel free to bring them along. We have vegetarian and meat options, and we can accommodate some common food allergies and dietary needs. If you have dietary restrictions, or you’d like to bring your own lunches, please let us know several days before your course.
How Will I Get to the Course Site? The course will begin at Betasso Preserve* at the Canyon Loop Trail - West Trailhead. Take Hwy 119/Canyon Rd. west out of Boulder for 6 miles to Sugarloaf Road. Turn right and travel up this road for about one mile. Turn right again at Betasso Road to the trailhead. http://www.bouldercounty.org/openspace/recreating/public_parks/betasso.htm
*Itinerary may change as we get closer to the course start
What About Fitness? This course is for mountain bikers of all levels, but we recommend that you participate in aerobic activities regularly before your course, and that you are able to ride your bike for an hour at a time. There will be frequent stops while you’re riding, but you should plan to be on your bike for most of the day.
