Patagonia was especially proud to sponsor the 2008 Girls' Leadership Course, a twelve-day backpacking and rock climbing expedition for high school girls. The Patagonia sponsorship was a crucial component to accessibility and affordability for this course as Women's Wilderness Institute utilized a $5,000 grant from provide need-based financial aid for five of the 10 girls on the course. Patagonia's support has been instrumental in allowing the Institute to meet its mission of engaging a diverse group of participants and making this leadership experience a financial reality for all applicants. Together Patagonia and The Women's Wilderness Institute help make inspiration and adventure from the natural world accessible, and by giving girls the tools to demonstrate leadership in protecting and improving the environment and our world.
